Whether you’re strolling through bustling Christmas markets, marveling at nativity scenes, or indulging in seasonal delicacies, Seville offers an unforgettable mix of charm, culture, and celebration. This guide will take you through the best ways to embrace the spirit of Christmas in Seville, ensuring your holiday visit is filled with joy and wonder.

Christmas Lights

The Christmas lights are one of the main attractions of the city of Seville during the Christmas period. From Saturday 30th November until 6th January they are on from 18:30 to 23:00. During the 24th and 31st you can enjoy them at 01:00 am.

You may ask yourself, what are the best streets to walk through to enjoy the Christmas lights and decorations?

The best places are ‘Plaza Nueva’, ‘Plaza de San Francisco’, ‘Plaza del Salvador’, ‘Avenida de la Constitución’, ‘Sierpes’ street, ‘Tetuán’ street, ‘Alameda de Hércules’ and ‘Avenida de Roma’. We also recommend you to see the bridges of ‘Los Remedios’, ‘San Telmo’ and ‘Triana’.

Where to find the best Christmas trees

Here is the rewritten text:

Every December, Seville is adorned with impressive Christmas trees in various parts of the city. Among them, my favourites and the most emblematic are the ones installed in Puerta Jerez and Plaza de San Francisco. The latter, about 15 metres high, is undoubtedly the most photographed.

In the Plaza de San Francisco, in addition to the tree, a uniquely designed structure is set up every year, which offers a sound and light show. This show, which lasts 10 minutes, takes place every half hour between 19:00 and 22:30, leaving all visitors in awe. Also, the façade of the Town Hall becomes the canvas for an animated projection with sound, adding more magic to the experience.

But these are not the only Christmas trees that stand out in Seville. There are other places that are also worth visiting, such as:

  • Plaza de Cuba
  • Santa Justa Station
  • Emilio Lemos Avenue
  • Roundabout at the entrance to Torreblanca
  • San Lorenzo Square
  • San Marcos
  • Plaza Basílica Macarena
  • Plaza de La Encarnación

A stroll through these corners ensures a complete immersion in the Christmas spirit of the city.

Videomapping: Navigalia, everything about it

The ‘Navigalia’ show has become an unmissable event during Christmas in Seville. This year, the magic returns to the Guadalquivir from 20 December to 4 January, except on 24 and 31 December. The stage continues to be the Muelle de la Sal, located between the emblematic Triana Bridge and the Monument to Tolerance.

In its previous edition, this show was a resounding success, and for its second edition, christened ‘Al rescate de la Navidad’, it promises to surprise once again. Inspired by Expo ‘92, it combines a moving Christmas narrative with stunning water projections and 4D technology.

I had the opportunity to attend last year and, although I have enjoyed similar shows in other European cities, I can say that this one stood out as one of the most impressive I have seen .

Passes and schedules: This year, 6 daily sessions are scheduled, two more than in 2023. Each show will last approximately 12 minutes and will take place at the following times:

  • 18:45
  • 19:30
  • 20:15
  • 21:00
  • 21:45
  • 22:15

Although admission was free in 2023, due to high demand, this year the entrance fee will be a symbolic 1 euro.

Fair of flavours and Christmas sweets in Seville 2024

Every December, the courtyard of the Diputación de Sevilla is transformed into the setting for the ‘Sabores de Navidad’ fair, an event dedicated to local products from the province. At this fair you can find everything from typical Christmas delicacies to a wide variety of artisan products, such as Iberian cured meats, cheeses, preserves, wines, liqueurs, olive oil, sweets, craft beers, honey and jams. Between 35 and 40 stalls representing some 30 municipalities in the province are taking part, offering an authentic sample of the flavours of Seville.

Although the date of the 16th edition has not yet been confirmed, last year the fair was held over two weekends: 2 and 3 December and 16 and 17 December. The opening hours are usually from 11:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays and from 11:00 to 18:00 on Sundays.

If you are looking for quality products and tradition for your celebrations, this is an event not to be missed.
