Granada is transformed into a dreamlike place during Christmas, offering an unforgettable experience for visitors and residents alike. Its streets are illuminated with a dazzling display of lights, carol music resounds in every corner, and the emblematic squares come alive with shows, attractions and unique decorations. This 2024, the city proposes a programme full of activities to enjoy with family, friends or as a couple, combining tradition and modernity in a festive atmosphere that will make you feel the Christmas spirit at its best. From impressive decorations to musical events and craft markets, Granada has everything you need to celebrate a magical Christmas.
Christmas Lights and Sound Show
Christmas in Granada officially begins on Saturday 30 November with the switching on of the lights in the Plaza del Carmen. This year, the City Hall lighting will include LED light curtains, the decoration of 15 magnolia trees and the installation of 50 chandelier-style hanging elements, each 1.5 metres high, connected with garlands of white LED lights. This display will be available until 7 January.
In the same square, you can enjoy a daily sound and light show, scheduled in three shows: at 19:30, 20:30 and 21:30.
A giant Christmas tree with carousel
Bib-Rambla Square will have a new attraction this year: a giant carousel tree with Christmas balls as a swing that will delight the little ones.

Plaza Nueva will have a three-dimensional fir tree 20 metres high and eight metres in diameter with 82,696 LEDs. Fuente de las Batallas will have a composition made up of two 2-metre-high walkable Christmas balls and a gift and its loop with a 2.30-metre-high built-in seat. Carrera de la Virgen will be equipped with a 4-metre-high star portico, also walkable, and Avenida Constitución, where the trees will be lit up with garlands, will be decorated with the figure of a huge walkable gift packet.
Christmas amusement park in Paseo del Salón
The Christmas Village, situated in Paseo del Salón, is expanding its offerings by introducing new attractions. One of these attractions is the extension of the Ferris wheel to the esplanade of the Palacio de Congresos. This extension coincides with the ‘Sabor Granada’ fair organized by the Diputación Provincial de Granada, taking place from November 29th to January 10th.
In the case of the attractions, which open on the same day, they will remain open until 7 January van 11.00 am to 3.00 pm and will resume their activity at 5.00 pm and close at 9.00 pm.
